The February Dodson & Horrell Employee of the Month award has been presented to Lorna Taylor. The award recognises and celebrates the hard work and dedication that the staff at 11-time Champion Trainer Paul Nicholls’ yard put in to get the horses to the track in peak condition. Harry Derham, Assistant Trainer and his panel of selectors, which includes pupil Assistant, Charlie Davies, chose the winner and Harry presented the prize.
Harry commented, “Lorna originally joined us in 2012 for three seasons before heading off to try something different. After a short time however Lorna found she was missing horses and racing so returned to Ditcheat in 2019 where she has been ever since.
Lorna’s hard work this season has been rewarded with success for horses she regularly rides like Storm Arising, Rainyday Woman and Mr Glass as well as with the horses she looks after My Way and Barbados Buck’s. When not at work Lorna will be found caring for Hawkes Point who she looks after in retirement having ridden him during her first stint with us.
We feel Lorna is a very worthy winner of this award for keeping her head down and being a loyal, hardworking and committed member staff!”
