The Whitaker name is synonymous with International Showjumping and therefore Dodson & Horrell is delighted to be renewing its sponsorship of Steven, Joe, Donald and Ellen also welcoming Ellen’s partner, Antonio Marinas Soto, to the team.
Based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, Steven and his team have a wealth of experience in all areas of the sport and together have won countless National and International competitions. The family has been feeding Dodson & Horrell for the past 10 years and in that time has represented Great Britain at various International, Nations Cups and World Cup competitions.
Steven Whitaker has recently re-emerged on the International circuit after having put his own career on hold to support his children, Joe, Donald and Ellen while they established their careers. Joe Whitaker, a top-class rider and an International Grand Prix winner, has inherited the family talent, after furthering his career abroad, he’s back at home in Yorkshire. Donald Whitaker had a fantastic start to his career riding ponies at the highest levels and has made the transition onto horses with great success.
After much early success in her career, including winning the 2010 Hickstead Speed Derby and the 2009 HOYS Puissance, Ellen Whitaker has now joined forces with her partner, Spanish showjumper, Antonio Marinas Soto. Together they run Whitaker Marinas Equestrian, soon to be based in Retford, producing, competing and coaching worldwide.
Steven Whitaker commented, “We have been feeding Dodson & Horrell for a very long time, all of our horses are on it and the results we see are excellent, right from our young horses to those who are well established at the higher levels. The horses have never looked better and they have certainly never felt better. We are grateful for Dodson & Horrell’s support.”
Sam Horrell, CEO at Dodson & Horrell, added, “Its great testament to our products that we are able to continue to work with the Whitaker family. We are honoured to have the privilege of feeding their top quality showjumping horses and we can’t wait to see what results they achieve over the coming months. Dodson & Horrell remain committed to improving equine nutrition – our aim is to #feedtowin.”
