November – Mia Caines
This month’s Dodson & Horrell Employee of the Month has been presented to Mia Caines. The award was set up to recognise the hard work and dedication that the staff at 11-time Champion Trainer Paul Nicholls’ yard put in to get the horses to the track in peak condition. Harry Derham, Assistant Trainer and his panel of selectors, which includes new pupil Assistant, Charlie Davies, chose the winner and Harry presented the prize. The winner receives a Dodson & Horrell gilet and a £30 gift voucher, both courtesy of Dodson & Horrell.
Mia joined the team in July this season and quickly proved herself to be a very hard working staff member who is keen to learn and progress. She takes a lot of pride in the horses she looks after; they are turned out smartly at the races and Mia continues to carry out each task to very high standards.
Harry commented “During November it was great to see Diego du Charmil winning at Ascot, Mia rides Diego every day and I believe it was her first winner since joining the yard and I know she was extremely proud of him. We are very pleased to be able to reward Mia for her hard work and sure she will enjoy more success with her horses through the season!”
