The April 2018 Dodson & Horrell Employee of the Month has been presented to Channon Whitson. The award was set up to recognise the hard work and dedication that the staff at 10-time Champion Trainer Paul Nicholls’ yard put in to get the horses to the track in peak condition. Harry Derham, Assistant Trainer and his panel of selectors chose the winner and Harry presented the prize. The winner receives a Dodson & Horrell gilet and a £30 gift voucher, both courtesy of Dodson & Horrell.
“Channon is in her third season with us now and is a hard-working member of the team and takes real pleasure in seeing her horses perform well. A major highlight for the team and in particular for Channon herself, was seeing Le Prezien (FR) win at the Cheltenham Festival, a horse she rides out and looks after. Another huge achievement for Channon in the last few weeks has involved a horse called Magoo (IRE) that she rides out, it has been a long road to get him to the races, however with her care and dedication whilst riding him at home, not only did he get there, he won after 696 days off the track!” commented Harry. “Channon has continued to progress and improve her skills in the saddle and all-round work rate. She is a worthy winner of the award this month.”
Channon looks after the following horses:
Le Prezien (FR)
Marracudja (FR)
Coup de Pinceau (FR)
Posh Trish (IRE)
Trevelyn’s Corn (IRE)
