Herb of the Month: Nettle

8th July 2019

They can be a nuisance when alive, but once cut and dried nettles can be a great way to provide nutritional support for our horses and ponies.

Nettle is extremely versatile and used in many products for dogs, horses and humans alike. It is often used to support the health of the skin and coat or to provide soothing support for skin irritations. It is also said to support the urinary system and function of the kidneys.

Traditionally nettles have been used for support of the circulatory system and were thought to cool and purify the blood, however scientific research to support this is limited.
