World Horse Welfare
Dodson & Horrell is delighted to be able to support the renowned international horse charity World Horse Welfare (WHW), providing feed, nutritional and technical advice for centres around the country.
WHW improves the lives of horses in the UK and further afield through education, campaigning and hands-on care. Founder, Ada Cole was inspired to set up the charity in 1927 when she witnessed work-worn British horses being unloaded at Antwerp docks and whipped for miles before being slaughtered. She was determined to stop the appalling cruelty of these journeys – ten years later the campaign succeeded and 88 years on WHW is still doing sterling work to stop unnecessary suffering across all aspects of the horse world.
Chief Executive of WHW, Roly Owers, commented: “The continued support of Dodson & Horrell ensures that the horses in our care are fed the very, very best quality of horse feed and the technical and nutritional knowledge at Dodson & Horrell is invaluable when dealing with some of the terrible cases of cruelty we see on a daily basis.”
