Point-to-Point Owners and Riders' Association
At Dodson & Horrell we are proud of our long association with point-to-point racing, which first began at a very local level back in 1987.
We have now spread our wings and sponsor a nationwide series of races – the Dodson & Horrell Point-to-Point Owners and Riders Association (PPORA) Novice Riders’ Series. This is made up of 12 qualifier races held at point-to-point venues across the country. The series focuses on up-and-coming riders in the sport and crossing the finish line in front is a goal that every young and aspiring jockey aims to achieve.
Dodson & Horrell also sponsors the prestigious Wilkinson Sword Award which is presented at the annual PPORA lunch to the leading male under 21 novice rider, who has yet to ride a winner at the season’s outset.
Our involvement with point-to-point racing enables us to demonstrate our support for the countryside and the grassroots of jump racing.
It is a great privilege working with the PPORA and this is an association we hope will continue for many years to come. Sponsoring point-to-points enables us to engage with our core customers – people who love horses and dogs and know the importance of good nutrition.
